Mid-Century Teak Sideboard MOY by A H McIntosh Scotland
Remarkable piece made in the 60s, within its Dunvegan range of dining rooms, by the iconic Scottish firm A.H. McIntosh & Co Ltd. Teak wood sideboard, with a design that reinterpreted the Scandinavian trends of the time. The front consists of a trio of drawers (the upper one is compartmentalised) in the central part, behind two doors, a space with an elegant double-depth shelf, and on the right a folding door that encloses a bar unit, with a hidden sliding tray in the upper part and a grid at the base where bottles can be stored. The legs have metal lifters located under them (adjustable in height, allowing a better accommodation of the furniture in surfaces with unevenness). Finally, we would like to highlight the longitudinal handles with their delicate turned shape, a high quality piece of woodwork that reveals the quality of the seal that Alexander Henry McIntosh founded in 1869 in the small Scottish town of Kirkcaldy.
It is in excellent condition, both aesthetically and structurally.
