Secretaire with Bookcase by Johannes Sorth for Bornholm, 1960s
Masterly piece designed in the 60s by Johannes Sorth for the Danish label MÖBELFABRIK Bornholm. Processing laminated teak wood. It presents a prismatic structure which draws an L, organized into two records, divided in its central part by a slide desk is hidden in the width of the main body when retracted (to the maximum extent the cabinet reaches 61 cm deep , remaining at 37cm work surface, the height of the desk 71cm). The upper register has a library of two shelves (23 cm deep) both adjustable in three heights and a small oblong sliding door closet drum (which has inside drawers, compartments for cards and shelf). The lower register, more depth, comprises a double sliding door that keeps a large storage module with adjustable shelf.
Retains great strength in its structure and aesthetically was restored completely (leaving only a scar on the top shelf of the closet, which has been duly masked).
